Raipur: Forest Charter and boon made for Dabri Suresh’s family

The state government’s ambitious plan to provide forest rights recognition certificate on land held for years, where forest dwellers are happy to get ownership. At the same time, the farmers are now doing agricultural work free from fear of eviction on the occupied land.
    In the same sequence, Mr. Suresh Netam, a farmer of village Bardela under Bhairamgarh development block of Bijapur district, told that he has been cultivating land on occupied land for 20 years. The state government has got the Forest Charter letter for one acre of land on which Dubri has been constructed under MNREGA. He informed that his father Mr. Shyamlal Netam has also got a forest rights lease for 2 acres of land.
    Mr. Netam stated that he already has 3 acres of ancestral agricultural land. Irrigation is done in the fields through Dabri, which is making crop production better than before. He has been doing fisheries in Dabri since last year. This year the fish production earned him 15 thousand rupees. At the same time, last year, by selling paddy of one lakh 65 thousand rupees, also paid agricultural loan of 32 thousand rupees. Mr. Suresh told that my father Mr. Shyamlal Netam plants seasonal vegetables on one acre of land with forest rights lease, including ladyfinger, pumpkin, barbatti, Tomatoes and other greens are important. They earn 20 to 25 thousand rupees annually from the vegetable itself. Along with this, there are ten fruit trees of mango in the occupied land, in which the income of 6-7 quintals of mango is being earned every year from 8 to 10 thousand rupees. Farmer Shri Suresh said that the ambitious scheme of government, construction of Forest Charter and Dabri has proved to be a boon for me and my family. My family of five members are happily earning their living by taking advantage of the schemes of governance.
