Myasthenia Gravis patient gets new life in Raipur

The successful operation of 19-year-old Myasthenia Gravis patient was given by the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon and Head of Department, Dr. Krishna Kant Sahu and his team of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital belonging to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College Raipur. A similar operation was performed two months ago, in which the patient had to be kept on ventilator for 42 days.

However, this time the plasma ferreris technique was used before the operation, which required the patient to be put on ventilator for only one day. Today, that patient is healthy and getting discharged from the hospital and is going to study BCom by entering college in the next session. 18-year-old Babita Yadav, a resident of Bhilai, had to quit her studies after the 12th due to the disease. He had been complaining of fatigue, weakness and breathlessness for nine months.

Gradually the disease increased so much that it could not walk, it started having problems in opening eyes, eating and drinking and breathing. For some days, the disease was not understood by any local doctors. Then he consulted Bhilai’s neurologist Dr. Anoop. It was found that there is a tumor above the heart in the patient’s chest, due to which his muscles have become weak. This disease is called myasthenia gravis.
