Center declares Bhupesh government’s efforts to give home to the homeless, award announcement

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, the Government of India has appreciated the achievements made by the Government of Chhattisgarh in the direction of providing housing to the homeless. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), it has been announced to reward the state by praising the inclusive model of the Peacock Land Peacock Housing Scheme of Chhattisgarh. Also, Dongargarh will be awarded in the category of best performing municipalities. The award will be given on 1 January 2021.
    The much awaited Samaroh Samman Yojana (Urban) was announced by the Government of India today. A virtual ceremony will be organized on January 1, 2021 in the presence of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, in which the State of Chhattisgarh will be awarded in a special category. Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri will also be present at the function. In the ceremony, beneficiaries of Chhattisgarh, Mrs. Anju Sahu (Dhamtari), Mrs. Mumtaz Begum (Dhamtari) and Mrs. Mamta Verma (Kawardha), who make the best accommodation under the Peacock Land More House Scheme, will also be honored.
    Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, while congratulating the people of the state, Urban Administration and Development Department and all the urban bodies, has reiterated their commitment to provide pucca housing to all the homeless persons. Expressing happiness on this achievement, Minister of Urban Administration and Development Department Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahriya has congratulated the department, urban bodies and the beneficiaries being honored. He hoped to continue a similar performance in the future.
