By India Today Web Desk: UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres unintentionally learn the incorrect speech on the COP27 local weather convention and when he realised it, he laughed it off, together with the viewers.

Speaking in the principle plenary corridor of the Sharm el-Sheikh convention on Wednesday, Guterres was attributable to give the opening handle at a session with former US Vice President Al Gore on monitoring carbon emissions.

However, a couple of phrases into his speech, the UN chief grew visibly confused and paused. Realising his gaffe after flipping via the notes earlier than him, the UN chief chuckled and mentioned, “I think that I was given the wrong speech.”

This elicited some laughter from the delegates assembled within the room.

With a sheepish smile on his face, Guterres instructed the viewers, “I’m going to speak to the group of young people afterwards and there was a small confusion. I apologise.”

He began over once more with a distinct opening line, presumably from the right speech this time.

COP27 is the twenty seventh annual UN assembly on local weather. It is going down in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt till November 18. Leaders and delegates from over 200 nations have been invited to the summit.
