Tanzania: Small airplane crashes into Lake Victoria, 19 lifeless

A small passenger airplane crashed Sunday morning into Lake Victoria on strategy to an airport in Tanzania, and the nation’s prime minister says 19 folks on board have been killed.

Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa gave the brand new dying toll, up from three. Earlier, native authorities mentioned 26 of these on the Precision Air flight from the coastal metropolis of Dar es Salaam have been rescued and brought to a hospital.

“We have managed to save quite a number of people,” Kagera province police commander William Mwampaghale advised journalists.

“When the aircraft was about 100 meters (328 feet) midair, it encountered problems and bad weather. It was raining and the plane plunged into the water,” he mentioned. Mwampaghale mentioned the rescue efforts have been persevering with.
