Odisha: Gram Rozgar Sevak, Horticulture Overseer In Vigilance Net In Graft Case | OTV News

Nabarangpur/Kandhamal: Two authorities officers from Odisha have landed in Vigilance internet on graft prices in two separate developments within the State within the final two days.
Vigilance officers on Thursday performed simultaneous raids on the homes and workplace of Himanchal Bagh, Gram Rozgar Sevak of Singhsari GP below Umerkote block of Nabarangpur district for allegedly amassing belongings disproportionate to his identified sources of revenue.
The anti-graft officers of Koraput Division carried out searches at three locations together with Bagh’s two residential homes in Umerkote and workplace at Singhsari within the district.
The raids have been performed on the energy of a search warrant issued by the Special Judge Vigilance, Jeypore, mentioned stories.
However, the precise quantity of property unearthed might be identified after the raids are over, mentioned officers.
In the same case, Batakrushna Kata, an overseer with Daringbadi Horticulture division was arrested on Wednesday after being caught red-handed by the Vigilance sleuths of Berhampur Division for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.10,000 from one Pure Pradhan of Malebadi in Kandhamal district on Wednesday.
Kata had demanded the bribe from Pradhan with a purpose to course of wage record for launch of labour fee below MGNREGA scheme.
Acting on Pradhan’s criticism, the Vigilance officers laid a lure and caught Kata whereas taking the bribe cash yesterday.
A case below part 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 was registered towards Pradhan by the Berhampur Vigilance and he was forwarded to the court docket later within the day. Further investigation into the case is underway.
