MBBS seats increased in Madhya Pradesh

2 min read

It seems that the interest of the youth in becoming a doctor is continuously decreasing. In 2017, there were an average of five contenders for one seat of MBBS and BDS. This year (in 2020), only 9600 candidates have registered for admission for 4362 seats of State Quota of MBBS / BDS till 12 pm on November 10. That is, on an average there are only two candidates behind one seat. The number of candidates registering for admission is decreasing every year, while the seats are increasing continuously.

Officials of Directorate of Medical Education said that the salaries of doctors in government services are low. Secondly, candidates with good marks try to enroll in other better medical institutions in the country, so they do not register in Madhya Pradesh. This is the reason why MBBS seats are filled, but 700 to 800 seats of BDS in private dental colleges are left vacant every year. Merit list of registered candidates will be released on November 11, after the registration process for admission to government and private medical / dental colleges is completed on November 10. After this, candidates will be able to give option for preferred seats. Online seat allocation will be on November 19 based on the given options. In the first phase, only the original candidates of MP will be allowed the choice of choice. In the second phase, external candidates will also be able to fill the choice, but will not be allotted seats. Even after this, seats are left from MP candidates, then the vacant seats will be allotted to candidates outside MP in the Mopup Round.
