TRAI fined 8 telecom companies of India

he Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) takes care of telephonic activities in India. TRAI can also reprimand telecom companies when it is needed. At the same time, now TRAI has punished 8 telecom companies of India, reprimanding them.Actually, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has jointly imposed a fine of Rs 35 crore on 8 telecom companies in India. These companies have been fined for sending fake SMS to consumers. These 8 telecom companies in India include Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Airtel, Reliance Jio, Vodafone-Idea, MTNL, Videocon, Tata Teleservices and Quarternt Teleservices. Let us tell you, TRAI has imposed a fine of Rs 35 crore on all the telecom companies jointly. Among these companies, the highest penalty has been imposed by the TRAI on the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), a government sector company. Whereas, BSNL has been in loss for quite some time. The highest penalty has been imposed on BSNL because, the company did not respond to TRAI’s notice nor did the company show a performance monitoring report. Digital payment companies will greatly benefit from the penalties imposed by TRAI.
