Senior IAS Amitabh Jain appointed as Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh, replacing RP Mandal

Senior IAS officer Amitabh Jain will be the new Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh. The government has issued an order on his appointment on Monday. IAS Jain will be the 12th Chief Secretary of the state and will replace the IAS RP Mandal. The IAS board has retired on November 30 itself. Presently IAS Jain had ACS Finance Department and ACS Water Resources Department additional charge.

IAS Amitabh Jain of 1989 batch is the only officer who has long experience of working in different departments. He has also worked in many large portfolios such as Home, Jail, Transport, Water Resources and Commercial Taxes, with a long finance department responsibility. Retired IAS will be the third Chhattisgarh officer after Vivek Dhand and Ajay Singh, who are sitting on the chair of Chief Secretary.

All education was done in Chhattisgarh, before IAS, mechanical engineer
Amitabh Jain’s schooling was done from Dalli Rajhara. Have done MTech in Mechanical Engineering from Raipur. He has also served in London for some time on deputation to the Central Government. Amitabh Jain is a very calm officer. He has been handling the finance responsibility from the previous government. Even after changing the government, his responsibility was not changed. It is good to work in rules and regulations.
