Last year and this year due to general economic slowdown and Kovid-19 have adversely affected the economic activities in the whole country, but the efforts of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel have boosted the economic activities in Chhattisgarh and these activities have benefited the whole country. Used to be.

In August 2020, the Central Government has passed the GST of the Center and various states. And has released data on collection of relevant taxes. CGST, SGST, IGST and CESS are the main components in these taxes. Comparing August 2019 with the above revenue collection for the month of August 2020, there are 5 states in the country where the total GST related revenue collection has increased in the month of August. This state is 17 percent in Nagaland, 7 percent in Uttarakhand, 6 percent in Chhattisgarh, 2 percent in Uttar Pradesh and 1 percent in Rajasthan respectively, there has been a decrease in revenue collection in all the remaining states.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has informed that more than 70 percent of the said revenue collection related to GST belongs to IGST, CESS and CGST. The CGST goes to the center treasury, the IGST is distributed between the center and the user states and CESS is compensated for the reduction in GST collections of all states.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that in the period of August 2020 in Chhattisgarh, there has been a decrease of about 10 percent in the receipt of SGST compared to the previous August. Nevertheless, the state has continued economic activities even in difficult circumstances through the state’s economic policies such as starting industrial commercial activities on time, Rajiv Gandhi Nyaya Yojana, Godhan Nyaya Yojana and purchasing of minor forest produce on support price. The result of this is that IGST and CESS being collected in Chhattisgarh will benefit other states of the country.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel said that due to the structure of GST, a productive state like Chhattisgarh suffers loss of revenue and over-populated user states get the revenue collected from productive activities in Chhattisgarh. Shri Bhupesh Baghel has again appealed to the Central Government that the amount of GST compensation should be provided by the Central Government through loans / own resources to the State and its debt should not be passed on to the State.
