Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that Godhan Nyay Yojana is a unique scheme, one-of-its-kinds in the country and abroad. He said that the scheme has already started yielding promising results, within only 15 days of its commencement. Chief Minister said that this scheme will transform the lives of villagers, farmers and cattle ranchers and will also generate employment round the year. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel expressed aforementioned views in the prestigious programme organized at his residence office, while inaugurating the payment process against dung procurement under ambitious scheme of state government ‘Godhan Nyay Yojana*. On the occasion, Chief Minister transferred Rs one crore 65 lakh online into the accounts of 46 thousand 964 dung sellers. 
Paying courteous tribute to Shaheed Mahendra Karma at the onset of the programme, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated ‘Tendupatta Sangrahak Samajik Suraksha Yojana’ in the state in his memory. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel paid tribute to Ex-Minister and popular leader martyr Mr. Mahendra Karma on his birth anniversary by garlanding his oil painting. On the occasion, all the cabinet ministers paid floral tribute to martyr Mr. Karma. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that Mr. Mahendra Karma was known as Bastar Tiger, as he also stood up strongly for tribal rights. 
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that Godhan Nyay Yojana is first-of-its-kind scheme across the nation and the world, under which cowdung is being procured from farmers and cattle ranchers at Rs 2 per kg at gauthans. On one hand, this scheme will financially benefit the cattle ranchers and on the other hand, it will also promote organic farming. This scheme will benefit people in multiple ways. The scheme will provide employment to people in rural areas round the year. Dung selling will help villagers, farmers and cattle owners in earning regular income. Besides, cowdung in gauthans will be utilized to produce vermi-compost. As the scheme would help in stopping open-grazing, farmers will be able to produce more than one crop. This will also promote protection and nourishment of cattle. He added that in every gauthan of the state, ‘Rozgar Thaur’ will be established. One acre land has been reserved in each gauthan to conduct income-oriented commercial activities for people of the village. 
At the programme, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel interacted with various gauthan samitis, women of self-help groups, cattle owners and cowdung sellers and discussed in detail about Godhan Nyay Yojana. Mr. Baghel asked them about the payment against dung procurement, activities conducted by women self-help groups especially vermin-compost production and sale, number of cattle in gauthans and the arrangements for their fodder, water etc. Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh Government is procuring 31 minor forest produce at support price. Collective efforts are required to ensure value addition to minor forest produce in gauthans so as to make it more profitable. Mr. Baghel said that Godhan Nyay Yojana is benefitting all the sections of society. As the scheme is being well-received across the state, Chief Minister congratulated cabinet ministers, chief secretary and senior administrative officials for the successful launch of the scheme.
In the inaugural programme, Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey gave detailed information about the activities conducted till date under Godhan Nyay Yojana. He said that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel’s vision has turned into reality. This scheme will be soon expanded from gram panchayats to village. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel had promised that the dung sellers will receive payment within 15 days, and the promise has been fulfilled today. Under this scheme, payment against dung procurement will be transferred to dung sellers on every 15th day.  He informed that under Godhan Nyay Yojana, from July 20 to August 1, total 65 thousand 694 registered beneficiaries sold 82 thousand 711 quintals of cowdung in total 4140 gauthans of the state, against which Rs 1 crore 65 lakh have been transferred into the accounts of the sellers at the rate of Rs 2/kg. Beneficiaries of the scheme include 38% women, 48% people of OBC category, 39% people of scheduled tribe, 8% scheduled caste and 5% general category. Next payment against dung procurement will be done on August 20. Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr M Geeta informed that under this scheme, maximum quantity of dung was procured in Raipur, Durg, Rajnandgaon, DHamtari and Balod districts of the state. Likewise, among urban areas, cattle ranchers in Raipur and Durg have sold maximum quantity of dung.

Under this scheme inaugurated today- Shaheed Mahendra Karma Tendupatta Sangrahak Samajik Suraksha Yojana- financial aid of Rs 2 lakh will be provided to the nominee or the heir in case of normal death of the head of the registered tendupatta labourer family (if head of the family is of age 50 years or below). In case of death due to accident, additional financial aid Rs 2 lakh will be provided, where as in case of permanent disability caused in the accident, financial aid of Rs 2 lakh will be provided and in case of partial disability caused in the accident, financial aid of Rs one lakh will be sanctioned. 
Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, in his address to the programme, informed in detail about this scheme launched as per the vision of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel to provide social security to tendupatta collectors. As the insurance scheme conducted by Central Government for tendupatta labourers has been shut down, State Government has launched this Samajik Suraksha Yojana to ensure social security of tendupatta collectors.
 If the age of head of the tendupatta labourer family is between 50 and 59 years, then Rs 30 thousand will be provided as financial aid in case of normal death, Rs 75 thousand in case of accidental death, and Rs 75 thousand in case of permanent disability cause in the accident and Rs 37 thousand 500 will be provided to the nominee or heir in case partial disability caused. He said that under this scheme implemented by Forest Department, insurance claims will be promptly resolved and the affected family will be provided the insurance amount within a month of claim. 
On this occasion, ministers Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Mr.Mohammad Akbar, Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu, Mr. T.S. Singhdev, Dr. Premasai Singh Tekam, Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahria, Mr. Kawasi Lakhma, Guru Rudra Kumar, Amarjeet Bhagat, Mrs. Anila Bhendia, Parliamentary Secretaries Mr. Shishupal Sori and Chandradev Rai, Advisor to the Chief Minister Mr. Pradeep Sharma, Mr. Ruchir Garg, Mr. Vinod Verma, Chief Secretary R. P. Mandal, Additional Chief Secretary Subrat Sahu and Amitabh Jain, Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. M. Geeta, Principal Secretary of Forest Department Mr. Manoj Pingua and other senior officers were present.
