Chhattisgarh ranks second in the country in GST collection growth

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, the far-sighted decision to keep the state’s economy dynamic even in the Corona crisis period has yielded pleasant results. Chhattisgarh has recorded the second largest growth in terms of GST collection as compared to other states of the country in September. Chhattisgarh registered a growth of 24 percent in GST collection in the month of September 2020 compared to the month of September last year. The GST collection in Chhattisgarh was Rs 1490 crore in the year 2019 September, which increased to Rs 1841 crore in the year 2020 September despite the Corona crisis.

According to the latest GST collection data released from the Union Finance Ministry, Jammu and Kashmir is at the first position with a tax collection growth of 30 percent, while Chhattisgarh is at the second position with a growth of 24 percent. Rajasthan has recorded 17 percent increase over last year, 15 percent in Haryana, 7 percent in Delhi, 6 percent in Gujarat, 5 percent in Punjab, 4 percent in Madhya Pradesh and 0.05 percent in Uttar Pradesh.

During the entire lockdown in Chhattisgarh, economic activities continued in the rural and forest areas of the state. Villagers and forest dwellers continued to get employment. If money came in the pocket of people, then the industry and business also benefited from it. Our industries also benefited from the economic liquidity that remained in rural areas during the crisis. As soon as the lockdown was unlocked, the state’s economic development regained momentum. In the initial phase of unlocking, more than 80 percent of the industries of the state have been opened, and every day not only the number, but also the day-to-day production capacity is increasing
