Ban on promotion of government employees lifted

State Government has issued notification for amendment in Chhattisgarh Public Service (Promotion) Rule and 100-point model roster for reservation in promotions. Subsequently, process of promotions that was withheld since February 2019 will be resumed. As per the notification, reservation of 13% will be provided to government employees belonging to Scheduled Castes and that of 32% will be given to government employees belonging to Scheduled Tribe.

State Government’s General Administration Department has published this notification in Chhattisgarh Gazette of October 22, 2019. The amendment notification has come into effect from the day it was published in the gazette by State Government. Now the promotions that were withheld since February 2019 in various departments will now be processed. General Administration Department has issued circular in the context to various departments. As per the revised promotion rule, State Government’s employees from grade-IV to grade-I will get benefit of promotion on the basis of qualification and seniority. Grade-I employees will be promoted to higher payscale of grade-I. The model roster issuesd for promotion of Grade-I,II,III, IV under the notification will also be applicable for employees of Chhattisgarh Bhavan, Chhattisgarh Sadan Office, New Delhi.
