Chhattisgarh to start fully equipped Sports Academies with modern facilities

Chhattisgarh will no longer lag behind in sports. With the initiative of the new government, the youth will get a new environment for sports. The Chhattisgarh Sports Development Authority has been formed, this authority will run all the state-of-the-art sports academies in different areas of the state. With this, cooperation of established industries in the state will also be sought. The main objective of the constitution of the Authority is to make policy decisions in the field of sports, coordination with sports departments, decisions regarding national and international level events as well as financial assistance under the sports development schemes of the Government of India. Apart from this, development of sports infrastructure, coordination of education and sports, creation of necessary resources for sports, implementation of sports excellence centers and sports schools, support to sports institutes and sportspersons.
 New and modern sports initiatives will be started to connect youth with sports activities. These academies will be run through the Chhattisgarh Sports Development Authority. Sports Academy will be run from the Corporate Social Responsibility Fund of the industries set up in the state. Sports academies include hockey, archery, athletic, cricket, swimming, archery, indoor games (martial arts), football, basketball, table tennis, kabaddi and kho-kho academy. The stadiums for setting up a new sports academy will soon be selected by the executive committee of the authority constituted under the chairmanship of the chief secretary. Important sports stadiums of the state will now be under the Chhattisgarh Sports Development Authority. The Chief Minister has been authorized to nominate two MPs, five MLAs and two outstanding sportspersons in the Chhattisgarh Sports Authority. Mukhyamantri Khalil Protsahan Yojana will be started in the state to provide financial assistance to the sportspersons for various sports activities. Traditional games of Chhattisgarh – games like Gendi, Bumblebee, Fugri will be encouraged.
Rajiv Yuva Mitan Clubs will be formed at the Gram Panchayat level and in urban bodies for leadership capacity, skill development among the youth in the state. Leadership, skill development activities will be conducted among youth through Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club. The participation of the youth of this club will be ensured in the development schemes and social programs of the state government. Club members will be associated with sports and cultural activities. So that youth power can be used in creative work.
The Rajiv Yuva Mittan Club Scheme will be implemented by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department in 11 thousand 664 gram panchayats of 146 development blocks of the state. These clubs will be given 10 thousand rupees per month for conducting their activities. For this, a state level committee will be constituted at the state level under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. At the district level, a committee will be constituted under the chairmanship of the Minister in-charge and clubs will be implemented at the gram panchayat level under the guidance of the Sub-Divisional Officer (Revenue) at the section level. The youth of the club will be linked for promotion of various social activities such as cleanliness, tree planting programs, schemes.
