Jennifer Brady misplaced in her first match for the reason that Australian Open remaining, falling to Anett Kontaveit 6-1, 6-2 Monday within the first spherical of the Qatar Open.
Brady, who misplaced to Naomi Osaka in her first main remaining simply over per week in the past, made 25 unforced errors towards her Estonian opponent. Kontaveit had solely 9 unforced errors and did not face a single break level towards the seventh-seeded American.
“I was expecting a very, very tough match but I’m very happy with the way I played and very pleased to get to the second round,” Kontaveit mentioned.
