2012 tweet had predicted Bryant’s death: Kobe is going to end up dying in helicopter crash

2 min read

Kobe Bryant’s death in a helicopter crash on Sunday has sent shockwaves across the world with millions mourning the basketball legend’s untimely demise. But equally shocking is a tweet from 2012 by a random user which is going viral.

The user – @dotNoso – posted about the Lakers superstar dying in a helicopter crash on November 14, 2012.

“Kobe is going to end up dying in a helicopter crash,” the user, who goes by the Noso, predicted and by some wierd coincidence, Bryant ended up losing his life in the same way.

The user was slammed by his followers after he put out this tweet more than 7 years ago. He/she apologised for this post after news of Bryant’s death broke early on Monday morning.

Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna were killed in a helicopter crash, along with 7 others, on Sunday while they were on their way to the Mamba Sports Academy in Los Angeles.

Gianna Bryant, fondly known as Gigi, was also an aspiring basketball player who took up the sport and started playing competitive basketball as she grew into a teenager. Kobe Bryant had mentioned in the past that Gigi loved basketball and she had dreamt of being a WNBA player one day.

Kobe, widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, had even started coaching his daughter Gigi’s team at his academy after retiring in 2016.

Bryant ended his own career as the third-leading scorer in NBA history, finishing two decades with the Lakers as a prolific shot-maker with a sublime all-around game and a relentless competitive ethic. He held that spot in the league scoring ranks until Saturday night, when the Lakers’ LeBron James passed him for third place during a game in Philadelphia, Bryant’s hometown.
