Odisha: Scuffle between JNU Leftists and ABVP leaders, college students oppose Utkal University campus getting used for anti-India propaganda

At Bhubaneswar’s Utkal University, a seminar by JNU professor Surajit Mazumdar was disrupted by ABVP leaders on Sunday, February 13. The ABVP scholar leaders have acknowledged that some Leftists from JNU have been making an attempt to unfold anti-India actions on the Utkal University campus and have requested why the campus facility was being utilized by an organisation named ‘Citizen Forum’ on a Sunday.

As per stories, on Sunday, 13 February, ‘Citizen Forum’ organised a seminar with the title ‘Indian Constitution and Education System’ within the PG Council corridor of Utkal University. A scholar chief from ABVP has acknowledged to the media that they’d gone to the seminar to take heed to the professor’s speak.

“During the talk, Professor Mazumdar made many anti-India statements that made false claims regarding the current Indian political scene and India’s constitution. He even tried to stoke casteist sentiments by making incorrect claims,” the coed chief acknowledged. Protesting the ‘anti-India’ seminar, the ABVP on Sunday night organised a protest asking the University administration to make clear why was permission given to some personal entity to carry a seminar contained in the University campus on a Sunday.

Another ABVP chief, talking to Kanak News, acknowledged that the one that was making the anti-India statements deserved to be slapped extra. He even added that the ABVP received’t tolerate anti-India actions anyplace and can preserve confronting antinational parts.

Members of the ‘Citizen Forum’ have demanded the arrest of the ABVP leaders.

On Monday, a scholar was reportedly injured whereas the police tried to arrest 2 ABVP scholar leaders from the campus. The ABVP leaders have accused the administration and the police of bias and have acknowledged that ignoring their complaints, the police tried to focus on ABVP college students.
