Six killed, 21 injured in van-truck collision in Chhattisgarh

BALODABAZAR: Five women and a toddler had been killed and 21 others injured when a van they’d been travelling in collided head-on with a truck in Chhattisgarh’s Balodabazar district, police acknowledged on Monday.

The accident occurred late Sunday night time time near Gauda Pulia beneath Palari police station area, positioned 70 km from the state capital Raipur.

The victims, natives of Latua village, had been returning after attending a family function in Parsada village, a senior police official acknowledged.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel expressed grief over the incident. The van collided head-on with the truck.

Five women and a six-year-old boy died on the spot and 21 others had been injured, 5 of them critically, the police official acknowledged.

The critically injured people had been shifted to a hospital in Raipur for remedy, whereas the 16 others had been current course of treatment at a hospital in Balodabazar, he acknowledged.

CM Baghel expressed grief over the incident and directed the officers to supply biggest medical assist to the injured people.
