Sanjay Raut seeks extra time to look earlier than ED; says busy with Shiv Sena programmes

MUMBAI: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Tuesday sought extra time to look earlier than the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in reference to a money-laundering probe, an official mentioned.

His lawyer submitted a letter on the ED’s workplace right here, requesting time for Raut to look earlier than the probe company, he mentioned.

Talking to reporters, Raut mentioned he was busy with get together programmes and would go to the central company’s workplace after that.

“Some people want to put us behind bars and run the state, the way it happened during the Emergency,” the Sena’s chief spokesperson claimed.”

Referring to using central businesses in some states, Raut sought to attract a parallel with the excesses dedicated towards political opponents in the course of the Emergency and mentioned he was able to go behind bars for “second Independence”.

The ED had summoned Rajya Sabha member Raut on Tuesday for questioning within the cash laundering probe linked to the re-development of a Mumbai ‘chawl’ and different associated monetary transactions involving his spouse and mates.

The growth comes because the Shiv Sena battles rise up from a bunch of its MLAs, placing a query mark on the way forward for Maharashtra’s Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) authorities.

Talking to reporters, Raut mentioned, “The moment I am free, I will go to the ED. I am a lawmaker. I know the law. Even if the law implementing agencies are working in a wrong way, I am a law-abiding person.”

On Monday, Raut had termed the ED’s summons as a “conspiracy” to cease him from preventing towards their political opponents, and mentioned he will be unable to look earlier than the company on Tuesday as he needed to attend a gathering in Alibaug (Raigad district).

Last week, when the rise up started within the Shiv Sena, one other minister Anil Parab had appeared earlier than the ED for questioning in a cash laundering case registered towards him.
