Money laundering case: ED points contemporary summons to Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut for July 1

MUMBAI: The ED has issued contemporary summons to Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut asking him to seem on July 1 for questioning in a cash laundering case linked to the re-development of a Mumbai ‘chawl’ and different associated monetary transactions involving his spouse and associates, officers stated.

The Rajya Sabha MP was issued the primary summons for Tuesday however he sought extra time citing official commitments and a gathering he was purported to attend at Alibaug.

His attorneys had met Enforcement Directorate officers in Mumbai on Tuesday and sought 14 days’ time for his look however the company solely gave him a reduction until this month-end.

The company desires to query the 60-year-old Raut and file his assertion beneath the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
