PUNE: Maharashtra minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party chief Chandrakant Patil on Monday sought to finish the tussle over his assertion on legendary social reformers Babasaheb Ambedkar and Mahatma Phule by tendering an apology and asking that these arrested for the ink assault on him be launched.

The ink-throwing incident occurred at Pimpri Chichwad right here on Saturday in an obvious protest towards Patil’s assertion that Ambedkar and Phule didn’t search authorities grants for operating academic establishments.

The use of the phrase “begged” by Patil, who’s the state’s minister for increased and technical schooling, stirred an issue, resulting in the ink assault.

Police had arrested three individuals for the assault and is questioning a tv journalist to seek out out if the latter is concerned.

Issuing an announcement in the course of the day, Patil mentioned he has been paying tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Jotiba Phule, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and Karmveer Bhaurao Patil and has been following their teachings in motion.

“I have great respect for their great work. I had no intention of hurting anyone as I had uttered that word inadvertently in my dialectical language and I had already tendered my apology for that word,” Patil mentioned within the assertion.

The occasions that came about after he made the remark was painful, he mentioned, including it was unhappy such accusations are being made towards an individual who’s a “mavala” (soldier) of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

“I don’t want Maharashtra to get disturbed on this subject. I as soon as once more tender my apology if anybody’s sentiments have been damage,” mentioned Patil.

Stressing he had no complaints towards anybody, the state minister mentioned “those who have been arrested should be released and the suspension action against the police personnel and officers should be revoked”.

Police had mentioned on Sunday that 10 of their personnel had been positioned below suspension for alleged lapses in responsibility that led to the ink assault.

Patil mentioned mentioned motion, if any, towards journalists should even be withdrawn (by police).

“I do not want to say anything about those who threw ink on my face. From my side, I am putting an end to this issue and request to stop the debate over it,” Patil mentioned.
