HC grants Abbas Ansari safety from arrest until April 27 over speech threatening officers

ALLAHABAD: The Allahabad High Court on Tuesday gave Abbas Ansari, the son of jailed gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, interim safety from arrest over his speech throughout an election assembly threatening to “settle the account” with authorities officers.

A bench of Justices Sunita Agarwal and Vikas Kunvar Srivastav ordered that the petitioner, Abbas Ansari, shall not be arrested until April 27 and he shall be underneath obligation to cooperate within the investigation.

“In case of any act of the petitioner of non-cooperation in the ongoing investigation, it would be open for the respondents to approach this court for vacation of this interim order,” the bench stated.

The case was registered on March 4 in opposition to Ansari, who gained the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls from Mau on the ticket of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), which was in a tie-up with the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party.

Ansari moved the courtroom difficult the FIR and in addition sought safety from arrest within the matter.

His counsel submitted that the native police was making an attempt to arrest him within the case by including extra grave fees.

The petitioner is an elected MLA of Mau and he’s being focused to not permit him to take oath of workplace, the counsel stated.

The SP-led alliance misplaced the election held over February and March to the BJP.
