Five of household killed in street accident in Gujarat, miraculous escape for two-year-old boy

AHMEDABAD: Five members of a household have been killed, whereas a two-year-old boy escaped miraculously with minor accidents after two vehicles collided in Bharuch district of Gujarat on Wednesday, police stated.

The accident occurred close to Hansot village within the afternoon, they stated.

A complete of six individuals, together with the two-year-old boy, have been travelling in a single automobile from Bharuch to Surat when the incident passed off, inspector Karansinh Chudasama of Hansot police station stated.

The toddler survived the crash and suffered minor accidents.

The driver of the opposite automobile was additionally injured within the accident, he stated, including that 4 of the deceased have been ladies.

The deceased included aged couple Imtiyaz Patel and his spouse Salmaben, their married daughters – Maria and Afifa – and the spouse of Imtiyaz Patel’s brother, Jamila Patel.

The minor boy, who was Maria Patel’s son, survived the collision and was admitted to a close-by hospital by the native police.

The police rushed to the spot instantly after the accident, Chudasama stated, including that Imtiyaz Patel, who was in his late 50s, was driving the automobile and was additionally sporting a seat-belt on the time of accident.

“While one car, driven by one Hitendrasinh, was going towards Bharuch from Surat, the Patel family was going in the opposite direction. The road near Hansot is straight and does not have any dangerous curves. Our preliminary probe suggests that Patel lost control of his car while overtaking a vehicle and went straight into the opposite lane,” Chudasama stated.

“Though airbags of both the cars worked properly during the accident, five of Patel’s family died on the spot, while Hitendrasinh and the toddler survived the crash,” he added.
