Congress to launch anti-‘Agnipath’ stir, asks authorities to refill 62 lakh vacancies

AHMEDABAD: The Congress has determined to organise protests throughout all of the 182 Assembly segments in Gujarat and the remainder of the nation on Monday for the rollback of the Centre’s ‘Agnipath’ scheme for recruitment in armed forces, celebration chief Alka Lamba stated on Sunday.

The different calls for of the celebration included filling up “62 lakh posts lying vacant in the Central and state governments” and the withdrawal of instances towards the protesting youths, she stated.

“The Congress will hold protests in Gandhian style on June 27 across all the villages, districts, and Assembly constituencies in the country against the ‘Agnipath’ scheme. Protests will also be organised across 182 Assembly constituencies in Gujarat,” Lamba stated.

Referring to the “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan” slogan, Congress stated neither the jawan nor the farmers are completely happy within the nation.

“As many as 62 lakh posts in the Central and state governments are lying vacant. These should be filled up immediately. Out of these 62 lakh posts, 2,55,000 posts are for the Indian Army,” she stated.

Lamba alleged the BJP-led Centre has slashed the budgetary provisions for the Army by 4 per cent in comparison with the erstwhile Congress authorities.

“If the government claims that it has no money for salaries and pensions, then why only the armed forces are made to bear the cut?” she requested.

Lamba alleged that the federal government was intimidating non-violent protesters however Congress stands with them.

“The Congress party will continue to fight in the interest of national security, the country and the youth,” she stated.

Lamba stated the Prime Minister ought to shun his ego and discuss to the youths as a substitute of remaining silent on the difficulty.
