BJP candidate Dayashankar Singh alleges assault by SP staff, his opponent Narad Rai booked

BALLIA: The BJP’s Ballia Sadar candidate Dayashankar Singh has been allegedly attacked in Akhar village after which a case was lodged in opposition to Samajwadi Party nominee Narad Rai and his supporters, police stated on Thursday.

Narad Rai’s nephew Ashish Rai has been arrested, they stated.

SHO of Dubhar police station stated that on the grievance of Dayashankar Singh, a case was registered on Wednesday evening in opposition to Rai and his supporters on fees of threatening to kill and damaging a car.

In the grievance, Dayashankar Singh claimed that he was returning house round 11.30 pm when supporters of Samajwadi Party candidate and former minister Narad Rai attacked him. He alleged that it was a giant conspiracy to kill him.

Singh additionally informed the police officers who reached the spot after the incident that Rai’s supporters had fled leaving a car that belongs to the Mukhtar Ansari gang.

It was additionally alleged that the car of Tunji Pathak, a former BSP MP who lately joined the BJP, was broken within the incident however nobody was injured. Police stated a probe into the incident was underway.
