US President Joe Biden on Sunday congratulated India on 75 years of independence and stated the United States and India have been “indispensable partners” that will proceed to work collectively to deal with international challenges within the years forward.

India will mark its seventy fifth 12 months of independence on Monday, celebrating the top of British colonial rule in 1947.

“The United States joins the people of India to honor its democratic journey, guided by Mahatma Gandhi’s enduring message of truth and non-violence,” Biden stated in a press release, referring to the chief of India’s independence motion.
