US Army releases footage of surveillance drone downed by Russian jets over Black Sea

By India Today Web Desk: Days after a Russian Su-27 fighter jet collided with a US MQ-9 drone over the Black Sea, the US Army launched footage of the drone incident with Russia.

The US Air Force was pressured to convey down its unmanned plane after the collision, the American navy had stated.

Meanwhile, the Russian defence ministry provided a distinct account. Moscow’s ambassador to Washington stated his nation “views this incident as a provocation” involving a US MQ-9 drone and Russian Su-27 fighter jet.

On Tuesday, two Russian Su-27 jets carried out what the US navy described as a ‘reckless intercept of an American spy drone’ whereas flying in worldwide air area. It stated the Russian fighter jets dumped gas on the MQ-9, presumably making an attempt to blind or harm it, and flew in entrance of it in unsafe manoeuvres. After round 30 to 40 minutes, at 7.03 am (0603 GMT), one of many jets collided with the drone, inflicting it to crash, the US navy stated.

US Air Force General James Hecker stated the MQ-9 plane was conducting routine operations in worldwide airspace when it was intercepted and hit by a Russian plane, leading to a crash and full lack of the drone.
