By India Today Web Desk: Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk suspected assault on church buildings by Russia as Kremlin violated the Christmas ceasefire declared by Russian President Vladimir Putin forward of the Orthodox Chirstmas.

The Ukrainian dispensation sees the ceasefire with scepticism because it issued a warning of potential assaults on church buildings inside the territories occupied by Russia.

Iryna Vereshchuk, additionally the minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, wrote on Facebook on Friday that she has obtained warning that Russians plan to assault within the midst of non secular providers being carried out on January 7—the day Christmas is widely known in Orthodox church buildings, reported Newsweek.

“I appeal to Ukrainian citizens in the temporarily occupied territories: There is information that the Russians are preparing terrorist attacks in churches in the temporarily occupied territories for Orthodox Christmas. I urge citizens to be careful and, if possible, to refrain from visiting places with a large crowd of people. Take care of yourself and your loved ones. Wait for the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” wrote the Ukraine’s deputy prime minister in a Facebook publish.

Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a 36-hour ceasefire in Ukraine for Orthodox Christmas, the primary main truce after a 10-month-long warfare that has claimed the lives of hundreds.

“Taking into account the appeal of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, I instruct the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation to introduce a ceasefire regime along the entire line of contact of the parties in Ukraine from 12.00 on January 6, 2023, to 24.00 on January 7, 2023,” Putin stated within the order.

Statements from the Kremlin invariably use Russian time.
