Ugandan police officer opens fireplace at Indian in public

An Indian businessman Uttam Bhandari was shot and killed by a police officer in Uganda, East Africa on May 12. 

In the CCTV footage, Police Officer Wabwire Ivan is seen having a dialog with Bhandari, when out of the blue he opens fireplace and shoots the Indian businessman. This created chaos and folk ran to keep away from losing their lives. Few seconds later, Ivan is seen returning to the office. He flips by means of some papers and fires further photos at Bhandari, lying unconscious. 

The Indian High Commission in Kampala expressed condolences to the family of Bhandari. 

The Ugandan authorities have arrested the officer involved throughout the crime.

The Indian High Commission in Kampala said in an announcement, “We stand with the bereaved Bhandari family and convey our sincere condolences. We also thank President Kaguta Museveni for his condolences and the Ugandan authorities for immediately arresting the culprit involved in this heinous crime.”
