Trudeau makes outrageous allegations with out proof: Sri Lankan Minister

Sri Lanka’s Foreign Minister Ali Sabry got here down closely in opposition to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, accusing him of getting a “way of just coming out with some outrageous allegations without any supporting proof”. Ali was talking in opposition to the backdrop of the continued diplomatic row between India and Canada.

“Some of the terrorists have discovered protected haven in Canada. The Canadian PM has this manner of simply popping out with some outrageous allegations with none supporting proof,” he mentioned throughout an interview with information company ANI on Monday.

“The same thing they did for Sri Lanka, a terrible, total lie about saying that Sri Lanka had a genocide. Everybody knows there was no genocide in our country,” he added.

“I saw yesterday he had gone and given a rousing welcome to somebody who have been associated with the Nazis in the past during the Second World War. So this is questionable and we have dealt with it in the past,” he mentioned, giving reference to the current controversy that erupted after Trudeau honored a veteran of a Nazi division.

“I’m not shocked that generally PM Trudeau comes out with outrageous and substantiated allegations,” the minister said.

The diplomatic rift between India and Canada was triggered by Trudeau’s allegations claiming involvement of Indian agents in the killing of Khalistani extremist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in June. Nijjar, who had been designated as a terrorist by India in 2020, was murdered in British Columbia, Canada, on June 18.

India has rejected Trudeau’s allegations as both “absurd” and “motivated.” In response, India expelled a senior Canadian diplomat, mirroring Ottawa’s earlier expulsion of an Indian official in reference to the case.

In gentle of those developments, the Canadian authorities has issued a cautionary advisory, urging residents to train vigilance and train warning.

India had beforehand issued the same advisory for Indian nationals and college students residing in Canada and briefly suspended visa companies in response to the escalating diplomatic feud.
