By India Today Web Desk: A US man has been accused of smuggling three Burmese pythons from Canada. The man has been accused of hiding the reptiles in his pants in an try and smuggle them throughout the US-Canadian border.

Calvin Bautista, 36, allegedly hid the snakes on the bus that crossed into northern New York on July 15, 2018, as per a report by the Associated Press.

The New York Man is dealing with federal fees for the offence as import of Burmese pythons is regulated by a global treaty and federal legislation. The Burmese pythons are listed as injurious to human beings.

Bautista was arraigned this week in court docket in Albany, the New York state capital, on federal smuggling fees. He was later launched pending trial.
