US President Joe Biden on Saturday reacted to the assault on writer Salman Rushdie and stated he was “shocked and saddened” by the incident. He known as it a “vicious attack” and stated “people around the world are praying for his health and recovery”.

Indian-born writer Salman Rushdie was stabbed on Friday as he was about to ship a lecture in western New York’s Chautauqua institute. He was taken to a hospital by helicopter the place he underwent surgical procedure to deal with his accidents.

National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, in one other assertion, described the assault on Rushdie as reprehensible.

“This act of violence is appalling. All of us in the Biden-Harris Administration are praying for his speedy recovery,” Sullivan stated.
