By India Today Web Desk: A rocket assault was reported close to Iraq’s parliament in Baghdad’s Green Zone on Thursday.

According to the Iraqi army, a minimum of nineKatyusha rockets bombed the closely fortified Green Zone in Baghdad and its environment, injuring civilians and safety workers. The Iraqi army didn’t give the precise particulars of the quantity of people that have been injured within the assault.

The Green Zone has many authorities buildings and international missions.

The rocket assault occurred simply when Iraq’s Parliament was set to start a session to elect a brand new President. The assaults gave the impression to be an try to derail the scheduled session.
