Queen Elizabeth’s coffin, lined by the Royal Standard flag and with the Imperial State Crown positioned on a cushion on prime alongside a wreath of flowers, is now mendacity in state in London’s Westminster corridor as 1000’s line up within the UK capital to pay their respects to the late monarch.

For 23 hours per day, guests will be capable to pay their respects. Tickets can be issued to VIPs for designated time slots. The authorities has warned that individuals might face 30-hour waits to pay tribute to the Queen, the BBC reported.

The Westminster corridor is the oldest constructing in Parliament and the one a part of the traditional Palace of Westminster which survives in nearly its unique kind.

Earlier within the day, the coffin of Queen Elizabeth II was transported from Buckingham Palace on a gun carriage in a slow-moving procession which lasted round 38 minutes, based on Reuters.

King Charles III, Princes William and Harry, and different senior royals adopted on foot behind the coffin. A brief service adopted which was attended by senior politicians, together with Prime Minister Liz Truss.

Queen Elizabeth II, the UK’s longest-serving monarch, died on September 8 on the Balmoral Castle in Scotland. The funeral can be held September 19.
