Parler sues Amazon for web site takedown, citing antitrust violation

Parler, a social networking service favored by many supporters of U.S. President Donald Trump, sued Amazon.com Inc on Monday, accusing its Web internet hosting service of violating antitrust legislation by suspending its account.
In a criticism filed with the U.S. District Court in Seattle, Parler stated Amazon’s determination to successfully shutter its account was “apparently motivated by political animus” and “apparently designed to reduce competition in the microblogging services market to the benefit of Twitter.”

Parler is in search of a courtroom order requiring Amazon to reinstate its account, and blocking it from suspending companies it had contracted for. It can also be in search of unspecified triple damages.
Amazon didn’t instantly reply to requests for remark. Parler was not instantly obtainable for remark.
