Pakistan’s new authorities has eliminated names of a number of high-profile personalities, together with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, from the no-fly listing, it emerged on Sunday.

The Cabinet in its maiden assembly final week authorised the Ministry of Interior, headed by Rana Sanaullah, to evaluate the Exit Control List (ECL), coping with the individuals not allowed to depart the nation.

The inside ministry began issuing notifications for elimination of these names from the ECL which had been on it for 120 days with none compelling cause, reported the Express Tribune.

Those allowed to maneuver in a foreign country with none hindrance embody Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, his spouse Nusrat Shehbaz, his niece Maryam Nawaz, former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, his son Abdullah Khaqan and Finance Minister Miftah Ismail.

Sanaullah on Friday mentioned that names had been placed on the ECL for political revenge. There are 4,863 individuals on the ECL blacklist and 30,000 individuals within the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL).

“Yes, the ECL rules have been amended which will directly benefit 3,500 people,” the minister had mentioned.
