North Korea to strengthen nation’s struggle readiness posture, expands navy drills

By India Today Web Desk: North Korean chief Kim Jong Un convened a gathering on Monday, to strengthen the nation’s struggle readiness posture. The authorities intend to broaden their navy drills.

The navy assembly’s agenda was to hurry up preparations for the upcoming navy parade, which shall be held on Wednesday to commemorate the founding anniversary of the nation’s armed forces.

The video reveals Kim Jong Un presiding over the assembly of the Central Military Commission of the ruling Worker’s social gathering. High-ranking officers are seen to be collaborating within the assembly, who mentioned “major military and political tasks” for 2023.

The authorities also addressed the “long-term issues concerning the orientation for army building.”

The navy assembly got here after North Korea condemned the United States and its allied drills on Thursday, stating that they crossed an “extreme red line” and warned to show the Korean Peninsula right into a “huge war arsenal and a more critical war zone.”

On January 31, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and his South Korean counterpart introduced plans to extend navy drills and deploy extra “strategic assets,” reminiscent of plane carriers and long-range bombers, to counter North Korea’s weapons improvement and keep away from struggle.

In response, on January 2, the North Korean international ministry condemned US Defense Secretary Austin’s go to to South Korea and said that they weren’t inquisitive about any dialogue with the US so long as Washington pursued hostile insurance policies.
