Moscow-Goa flight diverted to Uzbekistan after bomb risk, 2nd incident in 11 days

An Azur Air chartered flight from Russia’s Perm International Airport to Goa obtained a safety risk. The flight was diverted to Uzbekistan.

By India Today Web Desk: A Goa-bound chartered flight from the Russian capital Moscow was diverted to Uzbekistan on Saturday.The flight was diverted within the wee hours of Saturday after a bomb risk.

“An Azur Air chartered flight from Russia’s Perm International Airport to Goa received a security threat. Following this, the flight was diverted to Uzbekistan. A total of 238 passengers, including 2 infants, and 7 crew are onboard,” airport sources mentioned.

The flight, AZV2463, was diverted earlier than it entered Indian air area, the official mentioned. It was scheduled to land on the Dabolim airport in Goa at 4.15 am.

“It was diverted after an email was received at 12.30 am by the Dabolim airport director that mentioned a bomb being planted on the plane,” an official instructed PTI.

SECOND INCIDENT IN 11 DAYS

This is the second incident of bomb risk on a Moscow-Goa flight in 11 eleven days. On January 9, a constitution flight from Moscow to Goa with 244 passengers and crew made an emergency touchdown at Jamnagar after the Goa Air Traffic Control obtained an electronic mail claiming a bomb risk onboard the worldwide flight.

After the flight made its touchdown, a bomb squad and fireplace brigade groups reached the spot, together with a CISF crew, the collector and superintendent of the police.

A bomb squad, in addition to fireplace brigade groups, had rushed to the spot. Apart from this, CISF officers, in addition to the collector and superintendent of police, additionally reached the airport. The passengers have been deplaned and the flight was checked.

The National Security Guard didn’t discover something suspicious on the flight and it took off from Jamnagar airport. The Jamnagar Airport Director mentioned that each one luggage have been completely checked and that the NSG didn’t discover something suspicious.
