Moose noticed at Stockholm subway creates havoc, shot lifeless

A moose which was discovered wandering down the tracks of the Stockholm subway and inflicting havoc was shot lifeless by a wildlife ranger on Wednesday after the service on the southern a part of a busy line needed to be suspended.

The moose in some way managed to enter the enclosure that surrounds the tracks and roamed the southwestern a part of the so-called Red Line with above-ground stations. At one level, seven stations needed to be closed.

Claes Keisu, a press officer with the subway working firm — owned by Stockholm County Council — informed Swedish information company TT that the animal had entered the Varby Gard station in suburban Stockholm at round 11 a.m.

TT stated that the moose wandered for a number of hours and the variety of stations that have been shut down steadily elevated. At most, a complete of seven stations alongside the Red Line that goes from north to south by way of the town middle have been shut.

The animal moved forwards and backwards in a short time, Keisu stated. After failed efforts to catch it or make it depart the enclosure, the moose rotated and ran in the wrong way. It was shot lifeless at Varby Gard at about 3 p.m., after which the site visitors slowly resumed.

The first monitor of the Stockholm was opened in 1950. The subway system has about 100 stations. The pink line has 36 stations and opened in 1964, based on the operator.
