By India Today Web Desk: A video of a person dragging a useless shark round a Florida seashore with a hammer in his hand has surfaced on social media. It seems that the person allegedly bludgeoned the animal with a hammer earlier than dragging it throughout the seashore.

The video is now being investigated by Florida wildlife officers, Fox News reported on Thursday. The video was shot in Florida’s Indian Harbor Beach on the Harbour House Oceanfront surfcam. The video was reported by WOFL-TV.

The video exhibits a person holding a hammer as he tosses round what’s believed to be a protected Lemon shark, reported Fox News.

The Indian Harbour Beach Police Department Indian Harbour Beach Police Department posted on Facebook, “Two males were observed catching a shark while shore fishing, bringing the shark to shore, hitting the shark over the head with a hammer, and then dragging the shark back into the water and releasing it.”

Florida police stated that the incident will now be dealt with by the state’s Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, in a press release to Fox News Digital, stated that the fee is investigating the assault.

“The FWC takes potential resource violations seriously and is currently investigating this incident. Investigators have identified the individual in the video and would like to thank the public for their assistance. Per normal protocol, while this investigation is ongoing, the agency will not confirm the identity of the individual involved,” stated the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
