Another video, retweeted by Musk, confirmed Optimus waving on the crowd and dancing. “This is literally the first time the robot has operated without a tether was onstage tonight,” the presenter mentioned because the humanoid robotic walked again.

According to Musk, tens of millions of Optimus will be produced by the electrical car maker and offered for $20,000 apiece – approach cheaper than a few of Tesla’s vehicles.

The company will be ready to take orders in the next three to five years, Musk said, reported news agency Reuters. “There’s still a lot of work to be done to refine Optimus and prove it,” Musk said, adding later, “I think Optimus is going to be incredible in five or 10 years, like mind blowing.”

“Optimus is not directly in line with accelerating sustainable energy,” Musk said. “I believe the mission does considerably broaden with the arrival of Optimus to – you recognize, I do not know: making the longer term superior.”

Musk even posed with ‘Optimus’ after the launch and posted a photograph on Twitter, adopted by one other announcement.

“Naturally, there will be a catgirl version of our Optimus robot,” the Tesla chief, identified for his shock-and-awe bulletins, wrote.
