Initial probe into Al Jazeera journalist’s demise is inconclusive, says Israel

The Israeli navy has stated that its preliminary probe into the killing of the reporter was unable to find out whether or not she was struck by Israeli or Palestinian gunfire.

The Israeli navy says its preliminary probe into the killing of an Al Jazeera journalist this week was unable to find out whether or not she was struck by Israeli or Palestinian gunfire.

In an announcement Friday, issued as Shireen Abu Akleh was to be laid to relaxation in Jerusalem, the navy stated it was unable to find out who fired the deadly shot throughout a navy raid within the occupied West Bank city of Jenin two days earlier.

It stated Palestinian gunmen had been lively within the space and fired repeatedly and recklessly towards an Israeli navy automobile about 200 meters (yards) from the place she was hit, and that Israeli troopers returned fireplace.

Palestinian reporters who had been with Abu Akleh on the time stated there have been no Palestinian gunmen or clashes within the instant space.

The navy says “the conclusion of the interim investigation is that it is not possible to determine the source of the fire that hit and killed the reporter.”
