Indian-origin Nand Mulchandani is CIA’s first chief tech officer

Nand Mulchandani has been appointed as US company CIA’s first-ever Chief Technology Officer.

Nand Mulchandani, an Indian-origin man, has been appointed as Central Intelligence Agency’s (CIA) first-ever Chief Technology Officer. Mulchandani studied at Delhi’s Bluebells School International between 1979 and 1987.

The announcement was made by CIA Director William J Burns. According to CIA, Mulchandani has over 25 years of experience working in Silicon Valley.

Mulchandani has a level in Computer Science and Math from Cornell, a Master of Science diploma in Management from Stanford, and a Master in Public Administration diploma from Harvard.

“Mulchandani brings substantial personal sector, startup, and authorities experience to the CIA,” the US company mentioned in a press launch.

“Mulchandani will ensure the agency is leveraging cutting-edge innovations and scanning the horizon for tomorrow’s innovations to further CIA’s mission,” it added.

Speaking about his appointment, Mulchandani mentioned, “I’m honoured to join CIA on this function and look ahead to working with the company’s unbelievable group of technologists and area specialists who already ship world-class intelligence and capabilities to assist construct a complete know-how technique that delivers thrilling capabilities working carefully with business and companions.”
