A Hindu temple was vandalised by unidentified individuals within the UK’s Leicester. The High Commission of India within the UK has condemned the assaults on Hindu non secular symbols.

The High Commission of India in UK has condemned the violence perpetrated towards the Indian group in Leicester. The High Commission of India has sought speedy motion on the matter and safety for these affected within the assaults.

“We strongly condemn the violence perpetrated against the Indian community in Leicester and the vandalisation of premises and symbols of Hindu religion. We have strongly taken up this matter with the UK authorities and have sought immediate action against those involved in these attacks. We call on the authorities to provide protection to the affected people,” the Indian High fee mentioned in an announcement on Monday.

WHAT HAPPENED IN LEICESTER?

A Hindu temple was vandalised and a saffron flag exterior it was pulled down by unidentified individuals in East Leicester within the United Kingdom.

A video of the incident reveals a person clothed in black getting atop a constructing and flattening a saffron flag whereas onlookers cheer him on. The vandalism incident follows amid communal tensions between Hindu and Muslim teams following an India-Pakistan Asia Cup cricket match final month.

The Leicestershire Police has initiated an investigation after a video of the incident surfaced on-line. So far, 15 individuals have been arrested in reference to the case.
