Imran Khan will not be arrested for now, Lahore HC stops police operation until 10 am tomorrow

By India Today News Desk: After a day-long tense state of affairs outdoors former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s residence, the Lahore High Court on Wednesday directed police to cease its operation at Zaman Park until 10 am tomorrow (March 16), the Dawn reported.

Soon after the courtroom’s route and withdrawal of personnel of legislation enforcement businesses, supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) cheered and celebrated outdoors Imran Khan’s residence.

Citing sources, Geo News reported that police is not going to advance on Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence till the continued Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8 cricket match, involving overseas gamers, is over.

Police and different safety officers had been seen leaving Zaman Park, prompting celebrations amongst Imran Khan’s supporters, who cheered “chasing the Rangers away”.

Police arrived at Imran Khan’s residence on Tuesday to arrest him for his alleged involvement within the Toshakhana case.

Geo News reported that a minimum of 54 policemen and eight civilians had been injured within the clashes which have been ongoing since Tuesday afternoon. Imran Khan’s supporters clashed repeatedly with police all through Tuesday evening.

Television footage confirmed police shelling the protesters, baton-charging and firing tear fuel shells at them.
