Gaza rocket fired at Israel, militants say in error

By Reuters: Gaza militants fired a rocket at southern Israel on Sunday, a day after an Egyptian-mediated ceasefire ended 5 days of cross-border combating, and Palestinian militant groups acknowledged the launch had been a “technical error”.

Shortly afterwards, explosions had been heard in northern Gaza and the Palestinians reported {{that a}} militant outpost had been struck by Israel. There was no speedy comment from the Israeli military.

Just sooner than sundown, sirens went off in Israeli cities near the border, sending residents working for shelter, about 20 hours after the ceasefire had taken affect.

Israel’s military acknowledged a single rocket fired from Gaza struck an open house.

A provide from the joint operations room of militant groups in Gaza acknowledged the rocket was launched “due to a technical error.”

No accidents had been reported on each aspect.
