Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was shot at whereas campaigning in Nara, western Japan on Friday, public broadcaster NHK reported. The suspect has been arrested.
Japan Times reported that Abe was attacked from behind round 11:30 am and struck by a bullet within the chest, whereas delivering a speech on a avenue in Nara. He has been taken to hospital bleeding after collapsing .

According to NHK studies, a sound like a gunshot was heard on the time Abe collapsed. A male individual of curiosity was detained on the scene. An NHK reporter on the scene stated they may hear two consecutive bangs throughout Abe’s speech.
