External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Thailand on Tuesday to attend the ninth India-Thailand Joint Commission Meeting.

India and Thailand are celebrating 75 years of multinational of diplomatic relations.

The eighth Joint Commission Meeting (JCM) between India and Thailand was held on October 10, 2019, in New Delhi. The Indian aspect was led by Jaishankar and the Thai aspect was led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Don Pramudwinai.

During the conferences, each side reviewed the progress made in all areas of the bilateral relationship, together with political, defence and safety, financial and business, connectivity, cultural, tourism and people-to-people ties.

They famous that India and Thailand are shut maritime neighbours having historic and cultural linkages. In the modern context, India’s ‘Act East’ coverage is complemented by Thailand’s ‘Look West’ coverage, the Ministry of External Affairs had stated in an announcement on the eighth JCM.
