Drone carrying 6 kg of medication crashes in Pakistan’s Lahore

By India Today World Desk: A drone carrying six kilogrammes of heroin crashed within the Halloki space of Pakistan’s Lahore, as per a report by native media. The space the place the drone was discovered is near India-Pakistan border.

The “larger than usual” sized drone was recovered from Rasoolpura village, Kahna Station House Officer (SHO) Abdul Wahid informed Dawn.

“The drone, of size larger than usual, was carrying six kilogrammes of heroin when it crashed into the fields of a landlord identified as Rozdar,” Abdul Wahid stated.

“They (heroin and drone) have been handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force for further investigation pertaining to where the drone was operated from and where it was headed,” Abdul stated.

Notably, India has repeatedly flagged smuggling of medication and weapons from throughout its border with neighbouring Pakistan.

Last 12 months in May, India Today learnt from intelligence sources that Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) was readying drone centres to smuggle arms and medicines into India.

Sources within the Border Security Force (BSF) had said that that they had obtained intelligence that heightened drone actions had been being seen at a number of Pakistani border outposts throughout the IB from Ferozepur and Amritsar.

“Pakistan is using ‘dummy drones’ for weapons, drugs and explosives. Across the border near Khemkaran, smugglers fly drones with the help of Pak Rangers,” the sources had talked about.

A complete of twenty-two drones or unmanned aerial automobiles (UAVs) coming throughout from Pakistan had been shot down by the BSF final 12 months. All these downings occurred alongside the International Border (IB) in Punjab.
