Climate change activists decolour Italy’s well-known fountain

1 min read

Climate activists blackened the famed Trevi Fountain in Rome after pouring diluted charcoal into the water all through an illustration on Sunday. Protesting in opposition to native climate change, seven activists from the “Ultima Generazione” (“Last Generation”) group climbed into the well-known fountain with banners that be taught “We won’t pay for fossil (fuels),” and sloganeered, “Our country is dying”.

Taking to Twitter, the group acknowledged, “1 out of 4 houses in Italy is vulnerable to floods. How much longer do we have to wait for those in government to take concrete action?”

The police intervened and waded into the water to take the activists away, whereas bystanders and vacationers filmed the demonstration. A video even confirmed that onlookers even insulted the native climate activists and condemned their stunt. Watch.
